Telephone calls with Chris at Sears Auto Center regarding tire indicator light

In that I was unable to ask my question about the tire indicator light coming on about 1/2-1 mile after we drove off the Sears Auto Center lot down Orange Blossom Trail on June 4, I called Chris back to make an inquiry as to why this would happen if the tires they worked on were checked appropriately.

He told me, “I will offer to reset that light for you free of charge.”

He proceeded to tell me that “I am pretty sure that the tire indicator light has nothing to do with the tire pressure.”

I then asked him if they worked on mounting and aligning tires on my vehicle, and they are saying it was done appropriately, why would the tire pressure not be something that they check before considering the job to be completed and have a customer drive their vehicle off the lot with the tire pressure not being appropriately checked.

He said that typically someone will drive it around the lot a bit. It is not their procedure to test the tire pressure when they put tires on the vehicle that a customer does not buy from Sears.

I asked for a complete detailed report

Chris telephones and states that he spoke to technician Moises who said that he drove the vehicle across the parking lot, centered the steering wheel, believed that the car did not pull, proceeded to park the vehicle in the lot. He did not notice the tire pressure light on the vehicle.

I asked Chris, if the tires are flat when you put them on, do you still not check the tire pressure before completing it. He stated that unless the computer sensor indicates that the tire light is on, they do not check the tire pressure and they do not reset it before they drive it to the parking lot for pickup by the customer.
